Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This policy describes how PROXEMU collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our browser-based remote desktop and terminal management service.
1. Introduction
PROXEMU Corp. operates the PROXEMU platform — a browser-based remote desktop and terminal management service that lets you connect to your servers via SSH, VNC, and RDP protocols directly from your browser.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our website, web application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Billing Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Profile Information: You may optionally provide a profile photo and display name.
- Communications: If you contact our support team, we retain the content of your messages and our replies.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, session duration, and referral URLs.
- Device Information: We collect your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and device type.
- Cookies & Local Storage: We use essential cookies and browser local storage to manage authentication sessions and maintain your preferences.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To create and maintain your account
- To authenticate your identity and authorize access to your resources
- To process billing and subscription management
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To monitor usage patterns and diagnose technical issues
- To communicate with you about service updates, security alerts, and support
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity
4. Zero-Trust & Data Security
PROXEMU is built on a zero-trust architecture. This means:
- SSH Private Keys are encrypted with AES-GCM-256 and stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. We never transmit, store, or have access to your raw private keys on our servers.
- Session Data is proxied through our gateway using end-to-end encrypted WebSocket tunnels (WSS/TLS 1.3). Session payloads are not persistently stored by PROXEMU.
- VNC and RDP credentials are encrypted at rest in our database using industry-standard encryption. We do not log plaintext passwords.
- Audit Logs of command execution and session activity may be logged where enabled. These logs are retained securely and accessible only to authorized users.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Stripe for payment processing. Their privacy policy applies to information they collect.
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers who process data solely on our instructions and under contractual data processing agreements.
- Legal Compliance — we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or regulatory compliance (e.g., billing records retained for tax purposes).
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal exceptions).
- Portability — Request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Objection — Object to the processing of your data for certain purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@proxemu.com.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in servers located in countries outside your country of residence. We take appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data receives adequate protection.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
